No Jargon

You do not need to know what type of repair you need. Just show us the damage and we will explain it plainly.

Start With Photos

Send images of the damage through our contact form. We review before you need to drive anywhere.

Accident Damage — What To Do and Where to Start

After a vehicle accident — whether it is a minor car park scrape or something more serious on the road — it is easy to feel overwhelmed, especially if you are dealing with insurance paperwork, another party's details, and trying to figure out what the damage actually means for the car. MRP Automotive Refinishing is a practical starting point. We handle accident repairs for all kinds of vehicle damage, and we are used to speaking with people who are not sure what they are looking at or where to start.

The most useful thing you can do early is photograph the damage properly and send it through. Good photos let us give you an initial view of the scope — whether this is a cosmetic repair, panel work, structural repair or a combination — before you have to drive anywhere. Once we have reviewed your photos, we will contact you, explain what we see, and let you know whether we can provide a preliminary estimate or whether the vehicle needs to come in for an in-person assessment before we can quote accurately.

There is no pressure at this stage. We are not chasing your business — we are trying to help you understand the damage and your options. If the photos suggest a repair that is outside our scope, we will tell you. If it is something we handle regularly, we will walk you through the next steps clearly. Private repairs, insurance-related repairs, or somewhere in between — all of these are conversations we can have once we know what the damage looks like.

Accident Damage We Can Help Assess

What To Do After Vehicle Damage

Photograph the damage from multiple angles in good light. Note the other party's details if applicable. Check your insurer's reporting requirements. Then contact us — you do not need to have all the answers before reaching out.

Damage We Can Assess

Panel dents and creases, scratches and paint damage, cracked or broken bumpers, misaligned doors or panels, hail damage, rear-end and front-end collision damage, and bodywork damage from side impacts.

Bumper, Panel and Paint Damage

Many accident repairs involve a combination of panel work and paint. We assess the damage in full so the quote covers everything that needs to be done — rather than fixing one thing and leaving the rest unaddressed.

Send Photos for Initial Review

Use our contact form to attach photos of the damage. Include shots from different angles and distances. We review what you send and respond with our initial assessment — giving you something concrete to work with before you commit to anything.

How Accident Repair Enquiries Work

Photograph the Damage

Take clear photos in good daylight from multiple angles. Wide shots showing the full panel, mid-range shots of the damaged area, and close-ups of the most severe damage. These photos become the starting point for our review.

Send Photos and Details

Submit photos through our contact form along with your vehicle details and a brief description of what happened. You do not need to know the technical name for the damage — just describe it in plain language.

We Review and Respond

We look at the photos and come back to you with an initial view. We explain what we see, whether we need an in-person assessment to quote accurately, and what the likely repair path involves.

Assessment, Quote and Repair

Once the vehicle comes in, we complete the full assessment and provide a written quote. Work begins only after you have reviewed and approved the scope and cost.

FAQs

Start by sending us photos of the damage through our contact form. We will review what you send and give you an honest picture of what the repair involves, what category of work it sits under, and what a repair is likely to cost. You do not need to know the terminology before you contact us.

Take photos in daylight, from multiple angles — straight on, from each side, and a close-up of the most severe damage. Include a wider shot showing the whole panel and its surrounding context. Avoid flash directly on metallic paint as it can obscure depth of damage.

We review the photos and come back to you with an initial view of the damage. If the damage requires an in-person assessment before a quote can be issued, we will tell you that. If the photos give us enough to work with, we may be able to provide a preliminary estimate before you bring the vehicle in.

Not necessarily. You can contact us directly and get an assessment regardless of whether you intend to claim through insurance or repair privately. Under Australian Consumer Law, you generally have the right to choose your own repairer even if you are making an insurance claim.

Yes. Our assessment covers cosmetic damage — scratches, dents, paint — and structural damage to panels, mounting points and body components. We assess the full picture before quoting.
